In a guest article for the Hamburger Abendblatt newspaper, Prof. Dr. Alexander Bassen explains the origins and some of the foreseeable effects of the sustainability reporting rules introduced by the EU Commission, the "European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS)." In addition to directly affecting larger companies, the new rules are also intended to indirectly make smaller companies more sustainable through greater transparency.
