NDR report on sustainable investments with contribution from Prof. Timo Busch

In its program Markt on September 23, 2019, NDR took a closer look at the question “How sensible are sustainable investments?” (from min. 24:45). Consumers are paying increasing attention to social and ecological criteria when investing their money, but sustainability is not a protected term. The program examined a random sample of sustainable investment products from various banks, often with sobering results. Prof. Dr. Timo Busch was interviewed on the topic of returns on sustainable investments (from min. 28:18). Based on a meta-study evaluating over 2,000 individual studies, his answer is relatively clear: on average, sustainable products perform better than the market.
