Many larger companies are required to produce sustainability reports on their activities. The EU Commission wants to amend the relevant directive in order to reduce the bureaucratic burden. However, researchers warn against any weakening of the directive and have drafted a written statement. Prof. Timo Busch is one of the signatories of this “Copenhagen Declaration”. With their statement, the researchers want to emphasize that intelligent and evidence-based bureaucracy reduction is necessary, but not at the expense of the Green Deal.

Here you can read an interview with Prof Laura Marie Edinger-Schons, co-author of the declaration.
