Impact investments are currently attracting enormous interest. Social and environmental change are at the heart of the debate. But who can measure this accurately, and how? Which technology should be used, which methods applied, and in which units should calculations be made? Can impact measurement counteract so-called “greenwashing”?

These and other questions were discussed in the panel discussion on “Impact Measurement” at this year's Sustainability Congress. In addition to Prof. Dr. Timo Busch, Andrea Weber (Bank J. Safra Sarasin AG), Frieder Olfe (imug), Martin Weirich (PwC Germany), Michael Schmidt (Lloyd Fonds AG), and Ivan Domjanic (M&G Investments) took part in the panel discussion.

For Prof. Dr. Timo Busch, when it comes to impact measurement, the correct use of the term “impact” is essential. He explains: “The topic of impact is extremely important. It is particularly important to use the term correctly in practice and not simply equate impact with ESG (environment, social, governance).”

The complete recording of the discussion can be found here.
